Quality Products For Quality People . . .
How do you know OWPI is the best?
Because our customers tell us so, and since we started in 1996 our
competitors have tried to copy the OWPI designs. They may have tried but
they never duplicated it. The American worker is the best in the world
and we have the products that prove it. If you want the best quality
products at the best price, forget the imports, buy the original and
you'll see why our customers love OWPI products.
What makes OWPI products different?
Our philosophy is simple. Quality materials plus quality construction
equals products that last for our customers. Combine that with quick,
personal service and that's why our customers keep coming back time and
time again. We back all of our products 100%.
What makes OWPI different?
Our goal is honest.
To become the leading manufacturer of high quality, affordable American
made products. If it says OWPI on it, then you know it was . . .
American Made with Quality and Pride !
David and Raquel Huddleston are the owners of Oversize Warning Products Inc. 22 years over the road for David and 14 years over the road for Raquel, a combined 36 years of truck driving.
David began driving trucks in 1984 at the age of 25 for Hoefer Truck Lines of Pittsburg KS. pulling flatbed trailers over the road in 48 States. He drove for six years as a company driver for a number of carriers until he bought his first truck, a 1977 KW cabover with a 110" sleeper. He leased that truck to International Transport of Rochester MN. in 1990. By 1993 he had purchased his first new truck a 1992 379 Peterbilt and moved his lease along with a new Trail King step deck to J.D. Enterprises of Moundridge KS. Over the next 7 years, David and Raquel hauled Hesston farm machinery out of Kansas, and various open freight back into Kansas.
It was during this time that he made the first Quickmount Flag for himself. Hauling Oversize Loads out of Hesston every week he wanted to find a better way to flag the load. Once the welt for the flag was developed it was a simple step to running a bungee cord through the welt and creating the EZ Hook Flag and the EZ Hook Sign. By 1996 they were making Oversize Load Signs and Flags for the trucking industry. Eventually a major distributor was selling these innovative products nationwide. However all good things seem to come to an end when the big companies with little minds start thinking about the bottom line instead of selling quality products. The distributor began buying knock-off products imported from overseas and quality was replaced by cheap prices.
Fortunately, David And Raquel were still driving their truck and were able to hold on to the business. They sold their trailer and for the next 5 years began running team, hauling liquid helium for Logex out of Great Bend, KS. They moved to Great Bend in 2001 and brought Oversize Warning Products with them. They have slowly built the business back up and sold their last truck at the end of 2005.
We want to thank the drivers, truckstops and dealers that have supported our company by purchasing American made products. Thank You for your patronage, David & Raquel Huddleston
